Read what our customers say ....

I’ve been shopping on line for years and love working with this company. They have been a wonderful supplier for my sugar gliders and other animals.

Thank You

Ryan D

To whomever this may concern, I just wanted to tell you how pleased I am with how promptly my order arrived at my house. I order a great deal of products off the internet and have ordered from you before and you never cease to uphold your punctual reputation. Thank you.

Alyson S.

I ordered pine nuts in the shell. The price is okay for a specialty item but the shipping costs more than the product, and this tiny bag of nuts came in a large box surrounded by Styrofoam peanuts and paper. I wrote to them telling them how wasteful their packaging was (nuts aren't fragile).

I then made another order and they didn't use Styrofoam. I was VERY impressed by this and will surely buy from them again.

Always a quality product with fast delivery. I am always very pleased.

BABY SUGAR GLIDERS                             (3 weeks out of pouch - 6 months)
WHAT TO FEED BABIES ...

Baby Sugar Gliders must be offered a variety of food types in order to obtain their correct nutritional needs. We suggest that fruits and vegetables (fresh or frozen) be offered on a daily basis (always defrost frozen before offering) Approx. 40% of the gliders diet should consist of these fruits and vegetables. Gliders are particularly fond of fresh apples. The other 60% of your gliders diet should be protein based foods. Examples of protein foods that we suggest are; Exotic Nutritions' INSECT-EATER DIET, Exotic Nutrition’s PREMIUM BABY GLIDER DIET or 'GLIDER COMPLETE DIET', along with live or freeze dried insects (mealworms or crickets. Supplementing insects is not necessary when feeding INSECT-EATER DIET, it already contains the whole insects). It is important that you keep the ratio of 40% fruits and vegetables to 60% protein based foods. GLIDER COMPLETE' already has 8 varieties of fruits incorportated in with the protein pellets, so if you offer GLIDER COMPLETE it is not
necessary to supplement with fruits. The same goes for INSECT-EATER DIET in cans. INSECT-EATER DIET already contains fruits & veggies along with whole insects.
If you offer to much fruits your babies will fill up on that, and not eat the protein based foods. If your baby glider is reluctant to eat the dry sugar glider diets, you can entice them by adding some honey or fruit juice (apple) to the dry foods. Make sure that you change the food daily and discard the old food. We also suggest that you offer your baby glider a product called ‘Gliderade’. This product is very high in carbohydrates and contains vitamins and bee pollen (something that gliders feed on in the wild). Gliderade comes in a powder form, you must mix the powder 5 to1 with water, then offer approx. 1 tablespoon per day in a separate dish. We also suggest that a powdered multi-vitamin Glider-Booster or Herptivite be sprinkled on the gliders fruit daily, and a calcium supplement Glider-Cal or Rep-Cal also be sprinkled on the fruit daily. Fresh water should be available at all times. If you want to keep it simple, feed INSECT-EATER DIET in cans, it is very easy to use, and it contains everything necessary. You can introduce dry foods once your baby glider reaches 6 months old.

HOW MUCH TO FEED?

'GLIDER COMPLETE DIET' should be offered at approx. 1 1/2 - 2 oz. daily per Sugar Glider along with fresh drinking water. If you are feeding one of the other pellet Sugar Glider diets (Premium, Eucalyptus or Papaya) then follow these instructions: Fill your gliders feed dishes with the following ratio of foods. The first day offer approx. 1 1/2 ounce of fruits and vegetables and 2 oz. of protein based foods (Pellet sugar glider diet, Insectivore-fare, or insects). After 24 hours if all the food is gone, then replenish the dishes with 2 oz of fruits and vegetables and 2 1/2 oz. Of protein based foods. If the foods are not completely gone after the first 24 hours, then cut back on the amounts of food the second day. Your ultimate goal is to have your gliders eat their fill of the 40% to 60% ratio of foods, leaving none behind. If you find that the glider eats only the fruit, then cut back on the fruit until your glider gets hungry enough to eat the protein based food.

WHAT NOT TO FEED...

Baby gliders should not be fed nuts in excess, Nuts are high in protein but they are also high in fat and phosphorus. An overabundance of fat in the diet can lead to obesity, fat deposits in the eyes, and a reduced ability to absorb calcium and other nutrients. Sugar gliders love nuts and, if given the opportunity, will often eat them to the exclusion of everything else. Nuts should be strictly rationed. In fact, some breeders and pet owners have eliminated nuts and seeds from their glider's diet entirely because they have observed a definite link between over consumption and poor health. You can feed sunflower seeds, peanuts, pecans, coconut etc. All nuts should be un-roasted and unsalted. Nuts with thin shells such as sunflower and peanuts can be fed in the shell. Don't feed dried fruit and nut mixes such as parrot mix. These preparations contain too many nuts and often have added salt, sugar and preservatives.

Testimonial:

I recently ordered the Premium sugar glider diet and Insectivore- fare for my sugar glider.  I must say that I was a bit skeptical about it at first because I just didn't think that my glider would eat it. To my amazement however, she loved it!! And on top of that, I attribute her health to the introduction of her new food. You see, before I started her on the food, she was beginning to have spasms in her hind legs (which of course I feared was the hind leg paralysis which is notorious for sugar gliders to get) and in all of my research online, I was led to your site. I was fortunate enough to speak with a gentleman over the phone that told me how to administer the new food and the calcimize traditionally I had offered her fresh fruits and vegetables and some dried fruit and nuts) . It has been nearly two weeks and thank goodness no spasms!  What I am trying to say is thank you and my sugar glider Casey Joe would like to thank you as well!

Best Regards,
Noelle Fanning

You can also offer Exotic Nutrition's Berries & Bugs diet a few times a week for variety. Fresh water should be available at all times, a calcium supplement Glider-Cal and multivitamin Glider-Booster can be sprinkled over fresh fruit three times a week, this ensures that you adult sugar glider is maintaining the calcium and vitamin levels required, although supplements are not necessary if your glider consumes enough of the Exotic Nutrition's Premium Sugar Glider Diet. successfully by us, breeders,    and hundreds of our customers with great success.

Why Feed Exotic Nutrition Diets?

The most important part of exotic animal care is their nutritional needs. Supplying correct nutrition and balanced diets for exotic animals is the basis of our company. Through the years we have experimented with many diverse ingredients and formulas to determine the best possible species specific foods for individual animal groups. Testing for our formula begins in the laboratory where microscopic examination determines nutritional values and vitamin content . The second stage of testing begins on our own colony of animals, where all our foods and supplements are fed for extended periods, and monitored to ensure palatability, good breeding results, and no deficiencies. When we are satisfied with the results from our first two stages of testing we then send samples of our diets to qualified veterinarians for examination and use. Our thorough manufacturing and testing procedures ensure that you receive the finest ‘species specific’ animal diets available.  Quality control is key to manufacturing exotic mammal diets that deliver freshness, you can see it in our foods and your pets can smell and taste it. The animals reap the rewards through better nutrition and health. All of our diets are made with the freshest all natural ingredients . They are guaranteed 100 %. If you are not satisfied, return unused portion for a full refund.

How to introduce Exotic Nutrition pellet feeds to your Sugar Gliders' diet.

Sugar gliders can be, and typically are finicky eaters. Not all Sugar gliders will adapt to eating pelleted foods the first time they are offered. The Sugar gliders' age, and present diet can be determining factors. Most Sugar gliders adapt to Exotic Nutrition pellet diets immediately, but if your glider is reluctant, we list below several techniques to make the transition.

Gradual Method

Over a 7 day period fill your Sugar Gliders food dish 1/4 full several times a day maintaining the following proportions of the old and new diet.

Day 1 - 90% old diet & 10% new diet

Day 2 - 80% old diet & 20% new diet

Day 3 - 70% old diet & 30% new diet

Day 4 - 50% old diet & 50% new diet

Day 5 - 25% old diet & 75% new diet

Day 6 - 10% old diet & 90% new diet

Day 7 - 0% old diet & 100 % new diet

 Sweetening Method

Add 1/2 teaspoon of honey to the pellets, each day cutting back the amount of honey added until you are feeding with-out honey. Gliderade nectar supplement can be used in place of honey if desired.

Testimonial:

I have been engaged in the practice of veterinary medicine for nearly twenty-five years. My career has included the treatments and consultations on the husbandry of numerous species of exotic animals for zoos and private collections. Nutrition is an important part of my consulting practice and reviewing diets formulated for exotics species is a routine endeavor for my clientele'.
In reviewing the ingredients of the Sugar Glider Diet manufactured for and marketed by Exotic Nutrition. The sources of nutrients, especially the minerals, appear to be excellent as they will be readily digested and assimilated by the animal.
Although many diets have been proposed for exotic animals, Exotic Nutrition's Sugar Glider Diet appears as one that was well thought out and should do very well as a staple for these animals.
I would encourage labeling for the addition of fresh foods - insects, fruits and vegetables - to this diet, as the enzymes found in fresh foods are virtually impossible to recreate in the prepared diets.
