This is the best quality cage. Will go well with any decor. Made with real wood. This is my Snow leopard geckos new palace! Best cage I have ever bought!
My daughters hamster loves all the room, she and I put it together in a few minutes. We will probably look for some sort of glue or sealant for the bottom of the plexiglass. This unit is well made and on the heavy side.

It's a pretty sturdy plastic from what I've seen so far. The walls are thick on all sides and it's easy to assemble with just a simple screwdriver. (it's also HEAVY, which I think means it should be pretty dense and the little guys will have a hard time chewing through if they try.
The plastic 'glass' came slightly fogged and not totally transparent, but I'm letting that go because the little guy might like the privacy anyway. You can't see it in the official images, but it does also have ventilation in the top part, not just the walls.
I can see what one other person meant by how he thought the plastic glass was too flimsy if a larger animal pressed against it, but that's because of how long the sheet is and really, no animal large and heavy enough to push it outward should be in this cage to begin with. This is perfect for my syrian. However, I am paranoid since hamsters can be little escape artists, so I added baby safe, removable strap locks to the top and to the sides of the 'glass' for extra ease of mind.
The littl plastic window at the top is held in place by little metal prongs kind of like in a picture frame, so it should be very easy to remove it if you want to replace it with mesh or something.
Also, the one star review for the color?? Not cool. Anyhow, this is an excellent cage so far!

Our hamster can have very deep bedding for burrowing in this large cage, and he absolutely loves it! Setup was very easy. I added aquarium sealant on the inside edges and to stabilize the clear acrylic panel, thanks to another reviewer's tips. This cage is very easy to modify the cage to suit your needs, and I find the construction/materials to be just fine for the price you're paying. Very much recommend!

I've seen comments saying this cage is gray, I have 2 of them. They are bright white. I saw a comment that the front plexi wasn't stable and needs a brace in the middle, it does not. The plexi does rattle but its a super easy fix. Just use an animal safe calking/ silicone all the way around it. This stabilizes it perfectly. I went around all of the seams and water proofed it while I was at it. The cage is perfect for grow outs for my baby rats. And its perfect for 3-4 adult rats. As you can see this cage is simple to modify to fit your needs as well. I removed the plexi on the top and made a larger vent hole in the back and added caging for more ventilation.
