All captive animals require toys to provide entertainment in the cage, especially when left alone for extended periods. It is imperative for mental and physical health to have an array of stimulating toys available at all times. Toys enrich the lives of pets while encouraging natural foraging instincts found in the wild. Add 2-3 toys to your pet's cage at a time and switch them out regularly for continued stimulation.

Always supervise pets at play. Thoroughly inspect toys and accessories on a daily basis. Wipe product clean with a damp soft cloth as needed before returning it to the cage.

Had one similar to this for another bird we owned. When he passed away we buried it with him. We've recently adopted another bird and had trouble finding one until stumbling across it here. We fill it with popcorn and it keeps him busy for hours! - Molly W.

The openings are too large and located on the bottom as well as on the top. Small treats and even whole nuts just fall out. -Dona M.

I think the width is more like 3.5 inches... I haven't measured, but it was bigger than I expected. I haven't found a good way (yet) to use it for my rats' treats/food, so instead I use it for bedding materials that they can pull through the slots. I'm a new rat mom, so I might find other uses for it as I try new things with my rats. I took the bell off because I didn't really care for it. It does seem really durable. -Christen C.
