The Madagascar cage is very nice and well constructed. It was easy to assemble. All the hardware and cage components were well identified.
The only downside to the cage is that the ledges are wire instead of solid. I can't speak for my sugar gliders, but the design of the ledges strike me as uncomfortable. I'm replacing those with fleece bridges and artificial garlands.
I like the solid shelf on the bottom of the cart. Some carts, like my previous parrot cage, have a wire shelf, so items placed on that shelf can tip over.
The wire ledges aside, I give the cage five stars. I give the starter pack only three stars, and here's why:
The Silent Runner wheel is not suitable for sugar gliders. It sits too close to the cage and can allow a glider's tail to get caught between the wheel and cage. Extending the wheel out farther from the cage would rectify this issue and make the wheel safer. I wound up having to order a different, more expensive wheel from a competitor.
The water bottle that comes in the pack is cheap and useless. The bottle I received dripped like crazy. I wound up ordering a water silo.
The only things I was able to salvage from the starter pack was the food, which if bought separately would probably cost as much as the starter pack cost, so I guess the wheel and water bottle were freebies.
I also ordered the Exotic Nutrition cage cover, but through Amazon. The cage cover seems well made and fits the cage nicely. At first, I wished the front flap would close shut using Velcro strips, but then I realized that might lead to a suffocation risk. The cover I also give five stars.
